I’m Mark “MHLoppy” Heath, and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Some people call me Loppy.

In League of Legends I’ve achieved Challenger (top 50 / top 200) on the OCE server across multiple seasons, and was Diamond 1 (and climbing) when playing on NA despite the troublesome 200 ping disadvantage. That difficulty lead me to focus less on mechanics and sick outplays, and more on macro decision making such as optimal item builds, good teleport usage, and manipulating minion waves (particularly during an era where high-level players were only just figuring that out – including me).

Here you can find articles about League of Legends, where I leverage my expertise to provide analysis and meaningful insights into the decision making process across various aspects of the game. There is of course also my detailed Olaf guide, which my readers say was one of the best guides out there during the time before LolKing shut down. The guide remains available archived, albeit with slow loading times and minor formatting issues.

Sometimes I’ll also cover other games, such as specific strategies or research/analysis for Rise of Nations, or how angles work in Rainbow Six Siege. During 2020 I also began innovating within the modding scene of the former game, documenting major findings to help other modders to take advantage of my work.

With a history of building and tinkering with computers, you’ll sometimes see an article about that or other tech-related topics. These days most PC builds I help end up getting a write-up, including a rundown of component choices and other thoughts on the build. When writing well after-the-fact I also try to include user feedback since it’s interesting to see how a system has held up over time.

For a while now I’ve been trying to put together some kind of system or parts guide targeted at Australian readers, as most of those available target the US or maybe EU markets. It turns out those are an enormous time sink to do properly, which is why almost nobody does good ones. Maybe one day!

Of course, now and then I delve into something outside of the topics. Maybe something about music (I play piano), maybe something else. You’ll have to wait and see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
